Bankole Wellington, commonly known as Banky W, has won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ticket for Eti-Osa Federal Constituency, defeating his opponent, Sam Aiboni.

Banky W won with 24 votes against Sam Aiboni, who received only five votes, according to NEWSCREEDS.

After the first primary was canceled last month, the PDP rescheduled the election for today. Since joining the main opposition party early this year, Banky W had been considered a favorite to win the ticket.

The primary was rescheduled after a dispute between Wellington and Aiboni compelled the party’s leadership to intervene from Abuja.

It was subsequently decided that a rerun should be held. Wellington won the initial ballot with 27 votes to two against Aiboni, a Lagos businessman.
