Nana Ghartey, a Ghanaian software engineer, has designed a voice assistant software for Ghanaians using artificial intelligence (AI).

Abena AI is a hands-free assistant programmed with Ghanaian languages to help locals who speak Twi, Ewe, Dagaare, and Dagbani, among other languages.

Abena AI was inspired by Apple’s Siri voice assistant, giving it the moniker ‘Twi Siri,’ and it is believed to work even without an internet connection.
