Roman Lukaku and Mateo Kovacic scored wonderful goals at Stamford Bridge as the Blues cruised through Aston Villa 3-0 to tie Manchester United for first place in the early Premier League table.

The Belgian, who had managed to pull off fears of a thigh injury, seemed a persistent menace in the final third of the pitch and scored a goal on his return to Stamford Bridge with a polished finish into the net inside the first 15 minutes.

Mendy made another spectacular save, this time from a driving strike from Villa defender Tyrone Mings, as the hosts pressed for a second goal to double their lead.

Following the half-time break, Thomas Tuchel made a substitution, replacing debutant Saul with Jorginho, and Chelsea responded brilliantly by scoring their second goal of the game through Mateo Kovacic.

The Croatian midfielder managed to control of the ball near the opposition box and managed to steer the ball into the net, leaving Villa goalkeeper Jed Steer defenseless to deny the goal. Chelsea scored a late third goal contributed by Lukaku to move the blues up the english premier league table.
