Pray for us, Bad Government caused this – Armed robbers tell passengers after robbing them.

A bus transporting travelers in Ghana was reportedly ambushed by five armed robbers wearing masks.

When the Elite bus was ambushed by armed robbers, it was taking people from Takoradi in the Western Region to Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

According to Ekua, a bus passenger, the bus departed the Abenbebon Station in Apremdo, Takoradi around 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 20. They were unfortunately attacked a few hours later.

“Around 3:30 a.m. on Monday, February 21, 2022, around five armed robbers using rifles and other weapons attacked us and stole our money and other valuables. “They were all wearing masks,” the traveler explained.

She went on to say that the armed robbers urged them to remember them in their prayers after the robbery.

“They urged us to pray for them after the attack since it was not their decision to stop vehicles on the highway and steal people of their things, but the system pushed them to do so,” Ekua explained.

Agya Owusu, the vehicle’s driver, said that there was nothing he could have done to help the situation.

“When I arrived at Fomena, I noticed a driver signaling me with his light that there was danger on the road,” he explained. I felt perplexed and pulled over to the side of the road for approximately five minutes. When I realized there would be no more vehicles, I decided to continue my journey.

“After a few minutes of moving onward, I noticed a Sprinter bus on the road with passengers laying on the ground.” This is when I realized there were armed robbers on the high road. Because they were so near, there was nothing I could do. They assaulted us and stole all of our belongings. My GH3,400 was taken.”
