The Qatar 2022 World Cup draw was conducted on Friday, and there are some intriguing matchups to look forward to before the knockout stages even begin.
Two of the tournament’s last three champions, Spain and Germany, are in the same group, while hosts Qatar have been assigned to play Ecuador on November 21.
Three teams have still to be chosen, with two inter-confederation play-offs and a European play-off scheduled for June – possibly resulting in an all-British affair for England, which will begin their campaign against the United States.
