The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s (EFCC) Abuja Zonal Command has arrested Afolabi Samad, the owner of a YahooYahoo Academy in Abuja.

Wilson Uwujaren, the agency’s spokesperson, said the 24-year-old was arrested today, May 12, 2022, in a sting operation with 16 of his students.

He claimed the youngsters, aged 18 to 27, were apprehended at their hideout in Peace Court Estate, Lokogoma, an Abuja suburb.

“The purported Academy’s owner rented a three-bedroom flat for three million naira to teach his apprentices about cyber-frauds for undisclosed fees.”

Item recovered from the suspects include laptops, phones, charms and two vehicles: a Lexus RX350 and Toyota Highlander.

The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded”
