Mason Greenwood, a Manchester United striker, has been accused of multiple assaults by a lady.
On Sunday morning, she shared video, photos, and audio recordings on Instagram. Shortly after, the posts were removed.
Officers from Greater Manchester Police said they were investigating into the posts she made on social media regarding the 20-year-old Bradford footballer, who has appeared 24 times for the club this season.
“Greater Manchester Police is aware of photographs and videos circulating on social media,” a spokeswoman added.
“Investigations are continuing to determine the entire circumstances.”
In a statement, Manchester United said: “We are aware of images and allegations circulating on social media.
“We will not make any further comment until the facts have been established.
“Manchester United does not condone violence of any kind.”
Later, Manchester United released another statement saying that Greenwood will “not return to training or play matches until further notice.”
